The Antimonopoly Committee informs you that according to the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan as of April 1, 2019 in the Republic of Uzbekistan, of the total volume of meat production in live weight, 94.3% falls on dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms, 4.8% on farms and 0.9% for organizations engaged in agricultural activities. In turn, this indicates the absence of monopoly and existing competition in the meat market. Also, this means that the republic has a small share of industrial meat production, which would ensure market stability taking into account supply and demand.
The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 30, 2018 No. 249 approved the List of socially significant and strategic types of goods (services), prices (tariffs) for which are subject to state regulation. Meat is not included in this List and its prices are not regulated and are set by the manufacturer on their own.
It should be noted that the Committee is currently conducting a comprehensive study of the meat market. Based on the results of the work, the Committee will develop a comprehensive program of measures and proposals aimed at the further development of entrepreneurial activity in this area.
